Heather Star Benson explores the Lester Horton Technique and Afro-fusion dance styles, using Fortifications, Balances, other centre exercises and choreography to build strength, stamina and dynamic rhythms. Classes will also include choreographic phrases to help you explore new ways to move in unique spaces. Whether you are looking to move and stay active or you are a professional dancer honing your skills, this class is for you.

ABOUT THE HORTON TECHNIQUE
Created in the late 1940s by Lester Horton, the technique is considered 'the Pilates of dance'. Using movement that is more natural to an individual's body structure, the technique is intended to increase strength, flexibility, proper alignment and endurance. The varying patterns of moving through time and space will expand your performance dynamics and expression.
