Connecting Communities: From Local to Global Dance Exchange

January 2020 - present

A dance programme that reflects, engages, and is enriched by the diverseness of local communities.

Royal Borough of Greenwich and Kauma Arts present the ‘Connecting Communities: From Local to Global Dance Exchange’ project. It specifically draws on the cultures and dance styles of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities to create new bodies of work, representing the diverse communities in the borough and surrounds. The project connects local dance practitioners and community groups with established artists in order to build a dance programme that reflects, engages, and is developed by the borough’s diverse communities. The work developed by the creatives involved throughout the project will be showcased across the Borough at live events and shared through online platforms.
